Hyundai Card selects a handful of fine restaurants in Seoul and Busan to run a promotional event twice a year for its users to dine at discounted prices. I am a big fan of the events they organize and gourmet week is something that I look forward to each year. (I recommend their app 'My Menu', as well by the way)

As the name of the event suggests, it runs for one week (23rd - 29th of May 2014).
I guess there will be another one in the second half of the year.

I made reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday evening and I think it was bit early so there weren't that many people. The restaurant itself isn't that huge and probably holds around a dozen of tables. There is a cute cocktail bar at the entrance if you'd like a drink before the meal.

Once sat, I didn't mind the decor and the chairs were comfy but then I am probably not the best person to comment on that. The lighting levels were just about right and I can't remember any background music apart from distance chatter from the table next.

We started with octopus and lamb meatballs. I liked the lamb meatballs with mint source very much. There's another layer of source inside the meatballs as well. Yum!

Genie Burger

Great Gumbo

For the main dish, I went for more dishes that sounded more American as the place is meant to be New York style dining. It's called Genie Burger for a reason as it comes with a dash of smoke trapped inside a transparent lid. The apple tree smoke infusion adds hints of smoky flavor to the dish. But out of the two, I liked the Great Gumbo better, a quick search on google revealed that it's originally a New Orleans recipe.
